The Approaches

01

Assumptions

Users would be accessing the website from a variety of devices, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
• Users would be looking for specific information about the events, athletes, and results.
• Users would be coming from a variety of cultural backgrounds and language preferences.

02

Pain Points

• Balancing the need for a visually engaging website with the need for a high level of functionality and ease of use.
• Ensuring the website was accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.
• Providing timely and accurate information about the events, athletes, and results.

Design System

Design System

To establish a consistent visual language, I created a design system based on the Olympic Games' color palette and typography. The design system included guidelines for layout, typography, iconography, and photography. The website was designed with a mobile-first approach, ensuring that it would look great and function well on any device.

Responsiveness

Responsiveness

The website was designed with responsiveness in mind, meaning it could adapt to any screen size or device. I tested the website on various devices and browsers to ensure it was functional and visually appealing across all platforms.

Accesibility

WCAG Usability Tests

To ensure the website was accessible to all users, I conducted WCAG usability tests. The tests were performed by people with disabilities who used assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. The results of the tests were used to make improvements to the website's design and functionality, ensuring it was fully accessible to all users.

Interactivity

Interactivity

To engage users and promote the Olympic Games' message of unity, diversity, and excellence, I incorporated interactive features, such as a virtual tour of the venues, an interactive schedule of events, and a quiz about the history of the Olympic Games. These features provided a fun and engaging way for users to learn about the events and athletes and to share their excitement with others.
